Singapore-based education consultancy Wissen International Pte Ltd, the exclusive representative and distributor of International Council of E-Commerce Consultants (EC-Council) across Asia-Pacific countries, formed a strategic alliance with the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) to boost the pool of cybersecurity talents in the Philippines.
EC-Council, the world’s largest cybersecurity technical certification body, operates in more than 170 countries and has certified over 400,000 professionals globally.
The shared vision was formalized by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions represented by Wissen International Managing Director Breyvan Tan and Benilde Chancellor Benhur Ong.
Mr. Tan emphasized how to utilize modern technology to bridge global innovations with local partners and shape the future of the next generation. “The essential part of the MoU is really how we can come together, bringing the international and world technology, and certifications credentials together with a locally well-respected school and college like Benilde,” he said.
Mr. Ong noted the partnership will pave the way for students to gain access to EC-Council courseware, immersive labs, and structured learning pathways, which will enable them to graduate with the industry-relevant credentials and real-world competence.
“As we advance in the field of cybersecurity, we do so with a clear commitment to ethical and responsible practice. Aside from the systems, we also protect people’s identities, their stories, and livelihoods,” Mr. Ong said. “Furthermore, in shaping future cybersecurity professionals, we are also molding stewards of digital integrity.”
Aside from incorporating industry-standard content into the curriculum, learners will benefit from hands-on activities, exam support, and industry certifications.
Faculty members will likewise gain the opportunity to cost-effective training, complementary resources to hone their expertise, and obtain certification scholarships.
Other perks of the collaboration for the college include access to specialized academic resources and cybersecurity competitions.
Some notable attendees during the MoU signing were Wissen International Business Development Director Judy Saw, Benilde Vice-Chancellor for Academics Angelo Marco Lacson, and School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT) Dean Joana Diñoso, DBA.
