RETAIL electricity supplier Shell Energy Philippines, Inc. has expanded its partnership with Greenlight Renewables Holdings, Inc. to secure additional supply from the latter’s solar project in Leyte.
In a statement on Tuesday, Shell Energy said it signed a new 15-year power supply agreement with Greenlight for an additional 120 megawatts (MW) from Phase 2 of the San Isidro Solar Power Project in Leyte.
The deal builds on an earlier 15-year power supply agreement covering the project’s first phase, bringing Greenlight’s total committed capacity to Shell Energy to 240 MW.
Phase 1 was energized in October 2025, followed by Phase 2 on July 30, 2026.
“Our continued partnership with Greenlight reflects a shared commitment to making renewable energy available to customers while supporting the country’s growing energy requirements,” Shell Energy Philippines President Bernd Krukenberg said.
Greenlight Renewables President and Chief Executive Officer Darlene Arguelles said the project demonstrates what can be achieved through collaboration across the energy value chain.
Shell Energy is the retail electricity arm of Shell in the Philippines. It supplies more than 100 commercial and industrial customers across sectors including real estate, manufacturing, education, and retail.
Greenlight Renewables is a joint venture between Shell and Emerging Power, Inc. (EPI), focused on developing, owning, and operating large-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects in the Philippines.
