FRENCH CARRIER Air France will resume nonstop flights between Manila and Paris starting Oct. 19, according to New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC).
NNIC, the operator of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), said in an advisory that Air France will operate the route three times a week using Airbus A350-900 aircraft with more than 300 seats.
Air France suspended its direct Manila-Paris service from May to October 2026 after converting the route into a seasonal operation.
The carrier had relaunched nonstop flights between Paris and Manila in December 2024, marking the return of the route after about 20 years.
Air France initially operated the service during the winter season before extending it into the summer of 2025.
The resumption comes as the Department of Transportation (DoTr) pursues consultations on air service agreements with several markets, including Europe, India, the United States, Australia, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Uzbekistan, Qatar, Ethiopia, Oman, and the Seychelles.
The DoTr has said the talks are intended to expand international air links and allow more direct services to and from the Philippines.
Philippine air passenger traffic rose by 1.24% to 32.65 million in the first half from 32.25 million a year earlier, according to Civil Aeronautics Board data.
Domestic passenger traffic was broadly unchanged at 17.38 million, while international passenger traffic increased by 2.69% to 15.27 million from 14.87 million a year earlier. — Ashley Erika O. Jose
