There were 3.9 million undernourished Filipinos between 2023 and 2025, according to The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2026 by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). This translated to a prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) of 3.4% — the lowest since the organization began tracking this in 2000-2002. It was the second lowest in Southeast Asia and was also below the 5.3% regional and 8.1% global averages.
